CREWS from Launceston Community Fire Station were in attendance to a gorse fire at Laneast Downs last Wednesday evening.

The critical control centre received multiple calls for this incident just after 11pm on February 28 and firefighters from Liskeard were also sent to the incident.

Officers used beaters to help extinguish the fire.

On the same day, crews from Liskeard also helped tackle gorse fire at Bolventor, near Jamaica Inn, in stark contrast to the snowy weather conditions their colleagues were dealing with in the west of the county.
