AS Holsworthy Bowling Club pavilion is now closed awaiting repair after being damaged by fire, our annual meeting took place in the Methodist Schoolroom, Bodmin Street, Holsworthy. Twenty six members attended and the chairman was Mr Alan Heard.
The club secretary, Mr Graham Norman, read the minutes of the last annual meeting after which he presented his report for the year ended September 30 2008. He gave a resume of the Club's activities during the 2007/8 season reporting on the successes of the teams in various leagues and competitions. The chairman thanked Graham for his continued good work on behalf of the Club.
The treasurer presented his report which had previously been circulated, and highlighted the items which showed any significant variation from previous year. Particular reference was made to the improved lighting scheme installed. Those members who had organised and assisted with the fun raising events were thanked.

The secretary reported in detail on the repair and renewal scheme being carried out on the pavilion, and stated that the contract for the building works had been placed with J E Stacey & Co and the equipment and furnishings obtained from the usual companies. The builders had advised that work would be commenced by not later than November 24.
Mr Heard closed the meeting by thanking the officers and members for their support, and wished them continued good bowling.
