FIRE crews have been called to incidents across both counties at the start of this month.
The fire station’s C731P1 appliance was first mobilised to an alarm sounding at a local supermarket, and then attended an automatic fire alarm activated at a telephone exchange at Widemouth shortly after.
Crews investigated both buildings and alarm systems, and it was then confirmed that there were no signs of fire at either site.
FIRE crews from Holsworthy and Hatherleigh were called to a report of a combine harvester smoking near to Holsworthy Beacon shortly before 2am on Saturday (August 6).
Upon arrival crews used a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and small tools to extinguish the fire.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was caused accidentally by dust and straw.
THREE fire engines attended a kitchen fire at a property on West Street in Hartland, at around 10.20am on Monday (August 8).
On arrival the crews, who attended the incident from Hartland and Bideford, confirmed the fire had been put out by a neighbour, who noticed a smell of smoke.
Crews confirmed the fire was involving items on top of the cooker hob. They inspected the property and confirmed the fire was accidental.
Care of the property was left with the landlord.
