People believe what they want to and I remember the 60s and 70s with Dennis Healey in 1975 going to the IMF etc.

The Liberal/Labour social contract froze public workers' wages until, in 1979, they lost patience and we had the protest strikes all over the country. (Reminds me of today's situation).
