THE Lanstephen Area Play Park committee needs one final push for fundraising to complete work on the play park.

A Crowdfunding page has been set up to raise the final £500 needed to complete work to new equipment. Previously the play park committee reached their goal of raising enough funds to install new equipment for the play area. However, when the contractors started work on the site they discovered the ground would need more work than was previously estimated, which will cost a further £500.

The chairman of the Lanstephan Area Play Park committee, Iris Lindsay, said: “We want one final piece of equipment for the park — a double seat, bumble bee see-saw.

“Unfortunately we are a bit short with the original funding we received because the builders, who started work on Monday [October 30], need to level off the area before the equipment can be installed, which will cost the extra £500 we don’t have.

“Work can’t be finished without this money so we are launching a crowdfunding page for this last final push of funding.”

The committee has set a target of four weeks in which to raise the final figure. Around £200 has already been pledged outside of the Crowdfunder.
