Yesterday (Wednesday) members of the Neighbourhood Beat Team were available at a crime prevention stand at Holsworthy Cattle and Pannier Markets to give crime prevention advice and security mark items such as mobile phones.
Andrew Elston, the Holsworthy Town PCSO said that with warmer weather and lighter evenings, car windows are often left open, making them a target for thieves.
Holsworthy Police are advising drivers to choose a safe place to park their vehicles, to close windows and lock doors and remove all valuables. A special sign with the words 'No valuables are kept in this vehicle overnight!' can be obtained from Holsworthy Police Station.
Free home security checks are also offered on application to the police station.
