AROUND 50 people gathered at the Delabole Methodist Church on Sunday morning for the ‘Toy and Gift Christingle Service’.
The Rev Bryan Ede and Sue Wilcox led the service. During the service many toys were placed under the tree to be passed on to Action for Children Young Carers project, which is based in Truro but serves the whole county.
Also gifts along with tinned foods were welcomed which will be forwarded onto the National Childrens Home and Share.
This was the beginning of many Christmas celebrations in the village leading up to Christmas itself.
As it was also Advent Sunday the story of the Christingle was told and everyone was given there very own Christingle to take away. This was followed by light refreshments.
