THE weather was brilliant and so was the support at this year’s St Stephens church fete held on July 16.

Those attending had a ‘cracking day’, especially on the ‘smash the crockery’ stall.

There was a raffle, tombola, cake, plant stall, books by a local author and various games; guess the weight of the lamb, hook-a-duck, skittles, horseshoes and ‘get the ping-pong balls in the bowl’ — along with refreshments from the café.

The event raised a grand total of £1,480.90, and thanks were expressed to all who helped or supported in any way. The money raised will go towards the work needed on the church and its roof.

This is a very large project, which will see the church community raising funds and applying for help from grant giving organisations.
