ANOTHER successful Lezant church fete was held on Saturday, July 23, to help raise money for church funds.
The fete was held in the beautiful garden of Liz and David Gooding last Saturday. Opened by the Rev Heather West, who encouraged everyone to support the church and spend their money, it was an amazing demonstration of community effort, with lots of stalls and plenty for everyone to do and see.
One of the major attractions was a Family Dog Show, sponsored by local Glebe Vets and ably judged by Nicky Checkley, which featured dogs of every size and description, all much loved family pets.
The teas did a roaring trade, and thanks to wonderful weather everyone could sit outside the tea tent and enjoy the spectacle.
The children took part in a scavenger hunt and there was a chance for the older ones to try their hand at archery or ‘fling a welly’.
All the church stalls and stands did a roaring trade and there were also craft stalls and charity stands from within Lezant community which added to the diversity of the afternoon.
Thanks to the generosity of those attending, over £1,141 was raised for church funds.
