A SCHOOL fayre has raised more than £1,000 towards the reburbishment of its library.

A number of people supported the Windmill Academy School summer fayre at Launceston, organised by the friends of the academy.

There was a variety of stalls, including a soak the staff challenge and painted jester.

Chair of the friends Karin Clark said: “The weather was kind to us and there was a great turnout of parents and friends. Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support the event and to all those who donated items for the stalls.”

Thanks have been extended to everyone who helped set up the fayre and ran the stalls, including Mr Terry who took up the ‘soak the staff’ challenge and Mrs Smith for the painting of the jester, also local businesses for donations.

Karin added: “We took £1,600 and on the day, including draw tickets and after expenses we made over £1,000 profit. This will now enable us to refurbish the library next term.”
