A FESTIVE buzz filled Holsworthy for late night shopping last Wednesday.
A crowd gathered at the Memorial Hall to witness the Nativity parade, led by real donkeys, which made its way to the town square where children visited Father Christmas in his grotto and were treated to magic tricks by Mr Eerius.
Members of Holsworthy Lions provided free soup for all and shops stayed open late for those to stock up in time for Christmas.
Chairman of the town's markets committee, Jon Hutchings said rain showers failed to dampen spirits: "The weather forecast was not on our side. Apart from a few heavy downpours, spirits were not dampened. The procession led by the donkey and the town band started in torrential rain and ended up in the square, many thanks to the Methodist circuit for organising.
"The children got to meet Father Christmas which was organised by the Rotary Club and the primary school children sang carols with the town band. Overall, a great community event for the town."
