THE Barrel at Bude recently played host to the seven mile-seven pubs charity challenge in support of three local charities.

On Saturday, December 9 at 1pm, the Barrel at Bude started the seven mile-seven pubs challenge, raising money for the RNLI, the air ambulance and Bude Sea Pool. People taking part could choose to run, cycle or walk the route, which includes the Barrel, the Bencoolen, the Buller’s Arms, the King’s Arms, the Tree Inn, the Preston Gate and then back to the Barrel.

Christmas fancy dress was encouraged, and as a community event, charity donations were voluntary and people took part at their own risk, ensuring they drank responsibly on route with plenty of water.
