THANKS have been expressed to businesses and organisations involved with the assembly of this year's Christmas tree and decorations in Launceston. These include South West Lakes Trust at Roadford, who donated the tree, and staff at Glendale (formerly Silvanus Services) and Jewsons for its take down, collection and positioning. Glendale personnel were also involved with the putting up of the lights, alongside Terry Graves and staff, local traders and members of the Chamber of Commerce. The decorations are being put up in anticipation of the run up to Christmas in the town, which includes the annual festivities on December 9, as well as, for the first time ever, late night shopping each Friday throughout the month.
