THERE was a real sense of charitable festive cheer around Sir James Smith's Community School in Camelford on the penultimate Friday before students broke up for the Christmas holidays.

They were allowed to wear Christmas jumpers into the school alongside their regular uniform, all to raise money for Save the Children.

A large number entered the spirit of the occasion and the season.

Head boy George Hooper, designed posters for the event and senior prefects and Year 11 students, including Jodie Lavender-Bournes, Kate Reynolds, head girl Tamsin, Poppy Gregory and Sarah Wilson, helped with the collection.

Eye-catching jumpers were worn by an impressive number of students, of all ages.
