Crimson blooms, gold balls, glitter, cinnamon sticks and ribbons — Scrooge himself would have been gaily humming a Christmas carol if he had been at Marshgate WI’s November meeting to see TV’s queen of the florists Elaine Reynolds (pictured) doing her magical stuff.

From plain containers and unadorned stick structures, she produce jaw-dropping creations to adorn the Christmas table, the windowsill or the fireplace to bring Christmas cheer into any home or workplace.

Bloom by bloom and evergreen twig by twig they grew more and more stunning until Elaine finished them off with glass baubles, glittery fronds or bows before moving on to the next stunning piece of floral art.

Then she generously gave the five large arrangements to be raffled to the large audience of members from several North Cornish WIs and guests.

Behind-the-scenes star of Doc Martin and winner of countless awards, Elaine runs Bruallen Florists in Delabole and also shares her expertise by appearing as a guest demonstrator at many events in the county.

Profits from the evening will go to WI funds.
