A VILLAGE Christmas fayre has topped last year's success.

St Breward Church Christmas fayre was immediately flooded by a crowd and raised £564 for the church.

A spokesperson said: "The Christmas stall was probably the best ever with the most glorious wreaths, decorations and gifts. There was fun to be had with a carol/song lyrics competition which had many singing the tunes and trying to work out the titles.

"The kitchen buzzed with cheerful chatter whilst mince pies and chocolate cake were enjoyed. As ever, the popular cake stall was heaving with goodies and the Bric-a-Brac had some special items for sale."
