MEMBERS of the Werrington Ladies’ Circle arrived at Yeolmbridge Methodist Chapel at Lady Cross on Tuesday, November 28, at 7.30pm, laden with goodies in readiness for the Christmas craft evening ahead.

Susan Desmond was coordinating the crafting of the chocolate trees and Mary Cole, the creation of the Christmas wreaths.

With Susan’s guidance, the ladies chose to start creating a chocolate tree from brightly coloured festive ribbon and, with glue guns at the ready, stuck the wrapped chocolates to the cone shapes, all being topped off with decorations ranging from stars to snowballs. It was amazing to see how different each creation could be and artistic flare was in abundance.

A massive array of foliage had been gathered and brought in by partipants of the Christmas wreath making, with Mary providing the willow wreath bases, wires, ribbon, dried decorations, pine cones, cinnamon sticks and more. With Mary’s expertise and direction, the ladies created wreaths of varying sizes, shapes and colours. Everyone’s interpretation was so different with no two wreaths being the same.

What a wonderful way to begin the festive season and thanks were given to Susan and Mary for giving their expertise in guiding the ladies through an extremely enjoyable and productive evening.

The epilogue was read by Mrs J Burt and the refreshments were served by Mrs C Lewis and Mrs S Riske.
