Pembrokeshire County Council is currently reviewing the centres they use to provide adult learning classes across the county.
They are not looking at a reduction in the classes, but buildings they use as a cost-cutting measure to utilise buildings of its own and to save rents.
Bloomfield Community Centre in Narberth is one of the centres that is to be reviewed next year.
Concerns at this proposal have been raised by the committee at Bloomfield and the local county councillor Wynne Evans, who addressed the county council scrutiny committee earlier this month.
"In defending Bloomfield to remain the chosen centre for adult learning in the Narberth area, Bloomfield ticks all the boxes," said County Clr. Evans.
"It is so centrally located, it has a warm and friendly environment, caring staff and tutors, and I believe it is a centre of excellence, and this view is shared by many students I have talked too.
"Currently, the centre offers some 35 classes, as well as a weekly attendance of around 300 adult learners, with varied topics of learning, and progression involved.
"It would not make sense to withdraw classes from the centre and look for an alternate venue."
