A MARHAMCHURCH farmer has been fined £1,000 after pleading guilty to causing noxious or polluting matter or solid waste to enter controlled waters.
Mr Anthony John Grills, aged 37, of Trelay Farm, Marhamchurch, was also ordered to pay costs of £3,638 to the Environment Agency.
At Bodmin Magistrates' Court on July 14, Mr Grills had admitted that on November 7, 2008, he caused silage effluent and dirty water to entered controlled waters, namely a tributary of the River Neet at Trelay Farm, contrary to the Water resources Act of 1991.
The magistrates indicated that they took his guilty plea into account when passing sentence.
