FOURTEEN members and friends of Camelford and District Friendship Club enjoyed a farewell cream tea at Boscastle Farm Shop on Sunday, November 3 after 13 happy years of meeting once a month at Anvil Court.

The club was first formed with the help of Brian Parkman after the closure of the popular Camelot Club that was run by Irene Luke.

Club chairperson and treasurer Jean Stewart, secretary Kay Colwell, and tea hostess and caterer Peggy Sleep — the three remaining original members — have reluctantly decided to 'retire' for various reasons and club members therefore voted not to continue when they attended the annual meeting in September.
