HOLSWORTHY'S first open air Food and Drink Festival, held in Stanhope Park last Saturday, was blessed with mostly fine weather and attracted a large attendance. It was a colourful scene with the market stalls arranged in a circle inside a fenced off area in the centre of the park. On offer was a mouth-watering variety of foods to tempt all palates, including locally produced chutneys, cakes, honey, seafood, meats and ice cream as well as authentic Spanish and Indian foods. Ten breweries were represented, with various real ales, ciders, lagers and beers available from two bars. The children were catered for with a number of inflatables in a kids' playzone and throughout the day there were food demonstrations and musical entertainment by local artists with Launceston's Horse Band rounding off the event with live music.
