THREE local charities were more than £14,000 better off when the profits of the Music in the Market event, held at Wilsey Down Market in August, was presented on Friday, November 22.

The event, which, for the third year running, raised £14,481 in memory of Helena 'Els' Reynolds, who died of a rare heart condition in 2010 while shopping.

This year's event saw entertainment from local acts, including the Boscastle Buoys, tribute acts for Katy Perry and Johnny Cash and Launceston band Feedback, plus many more, in front an audience of 450.

The money was divided between Camelford HeartSWell, Cancer Research Bude and the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
