OVER 400 people attended the Community Plan consultation day in Launceston Town Square on May 25 and gave their opinions on the priorities for Launceston and its surrounding area in the next few years.
Examples of the comments made included: suggested improvements to both the health centre and leisure centre; a call for increased development of green spaces, particularly within new and existing housing developments; improved access to the town centre for the older generation and the disabled; a proposal to develop a Facebook page for Launceston; a call to make the farmers market a real farmers market featuring the sale of locally grown produce; and the need to diversify the town centre shop provision and to more aggressively market the town and the surrounding area.
