THE St Breward village hall committee has extended thanks to those who supported the Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday, December 3.
With the hall and Santa’s grotto decorated with hundreds of lights, the atmosphere was fantastic.
Santa was very nearly overwhelmed by the number of children wanting to share their Christmas wishes with him. Santa saw more than 50 children in 90 minutes, and it was a close call whether he had brought enough presents with him!
Overall, more than 150 people attended for their breakfast with Santa, with people coming not only from the village, but also much further afield.
Once again, Santa was magnificently supported by the St Breward Junior Silver Band, which added a real festive feel to the morning. The children’s activity table was almost swamped by excited children, and the cake and soup stall did a roaring trade.
The committee sees these Christmas events as part of the village Christmas celebrations; nevertheless some £450 was added to the village hall funds as a result, which is very welcome and will help keep the hall maintained to a high standard and hire costs down.
Ted Raynham, of the committee, said: “None of this would have been possible without the support of non-committee members, Sonia, Catherine, Val, Barbara, Pete and Bonny.”
