A YEAR 11 student from Sir James Smith's Community School in Camelford proved to be a good samaritan recently when his caring actions helped keep a local pensioner safe.

Together with three teenage girls who he asked to help him, Karl Edwards ensured that a pensioner, who was suffering from Alzheimer's, and who had wandered aimlessly into his home, was eventually reunited with her relieved family.

The worried family had searched for her and ensured the police were contacted after hearing from carers that the lady had disappeared from her home address.

While carrying out their own search they were beset by fears about what had happened to her.
