THE Delabole Carnival annual treasure hunt was held recently and could not have chosen a more perfect day.
The warm weather brought out a total of 22 vehicles, ready to head off on the treasure hunt trail, which took them along to Camelford, heading up onto the moors and ending up back in Port Isaac, finally finishing at the Poldark Inn in Delabole for the prize giving.
This year’s winners were, in first place, the Dagley family, who took the Leo and Joyce Henderson Memorial trophy, and in joint second place was Sue Wilcox, Ann Hopkins and Claire Slazmann, who took the Checkpoint Cyril trophy, along with Lee Edwards and family. In third place was Andrew and Alison Stacey.
A total of £196 was raised for the Delabole Carnival funds, and this was the last fundraiser before the start of the carnival week on July 9, leading up to carnival day on Saturday, July 15.
The carnival committee have extended thanks to the Poldark Inn at Delabole, and to Chris and Martin Keat, who spend many hours planning the route for this event.
