TRIBUTES have been paid to a St Teath woman who died following a traffic collision last week.
Police and other emergency services were called to the incident on the A39 between Ball roundabout, Wadebridge, and St Kew Highway at around 2.10pm on Tuesday, April 1.
The vehicles involved were a red Citroen C3 and a blue Ford Fiesta.
The driver of the Citroen died at the scene of the collision. She has been named by police as June Russell, aged 83, from St Teath.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, with serious injuries, which were described as not life-threatening.
The road was closed for six-and-a-half hours.
In a statement released by June's family, they said: "The family are very grateful and take comfort in the amount of cards and condolences that they have received from family and friends. They are very grateful to all the police, ambulance and other emergency services that attended on the day."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, in particular anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles travelling on the A39 before the incident, to call Sgt Ken George from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log reference number 401 of April 1.
