A Camelford lady whose popular party trick was dancing to the Muffin Man tune while balancing a pint of ale on her head has celebrated her 90th birthday.
Violet Biddick, affectionately known as Vi, was born on April 15, 1925, in Camelford, second eldest to Horace and Mary Hicks. In 1933 the family moved to Hillside Boscastle, now known as Kiddleywinks and Linhay.
Vi went to school in Boscastle and left at the age of 14. Her first job was delivering milk around the village for Mrs Downings, from Trelawney, before working for Mrs Gillams at Pentargon Guest House, Now The Coach House.
Vi married Bob at Minster Church on June 5, 1948. Their first home was the annexe at Pentargon Guest House, where they lived for around nine years.
Their son Malcolm and daughter Beryl were raised there, before the family moved in 1955 to 5 Potters Lane, where their son Keith was born.
