ALMOST £6,000 has been raised so far in memory of a Marhamchurch woman who sadly lost her life to epilepsy last year.
Her uncle, David Sherwin, originally from Marhamchurch, walked from Bristol to North Cornwall in just four days — he was determined to get there in time to join a fundraising event for the Epilepsy Society, a charity which works to help ensure a full life for everyone affected by this illness.
David's niece, Georgie Butler, was just 20 when she died of complications from the nocturnal epilepsy she had suffered from since birth.
Since her death last October, the whole family has focused on positive things they could do in her memory.
They decided to raise money for the Epilepsy Society with an event in Marhamchurch on March 22 to coincide with what would have been Georgie's 21st birthday and Purple Day, the international day for epilepsy, on March 26.
