CROWDS flocked to the annual fete and car boot sale at Delabole Fire Station with not one parking space left at the famous slate quarry. Held on the evening of Wednesday August 6, this year more attractions were added to the event, including the arrival of a Green Goddess Fire Engine. There was also a visit from Nelson the English Springer Spaniel fire investigation dog along with its handler, watch manager Mark Smith. The dog gave a demonstration of his work in the show ring.
