BUDE and Stratton Cancer Research UK was presented with a cheque for £4,500 from the money raised by the Mark Bowman Appeal.

Mark Bowman, a 46-year-old postman from Bude, tragically lost his battle with cancer during Christmas week last year.

He was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma — cancer of the bile duct with portal vein and hepatic artery involvement — in October 2011. Due to the large size of the tumour he had been told it was inoperable.
