Council Leader John Pollard and cabinet member for finance and resources,?Launceston councillor Alex Folkes, were accompanied by new council chief executive Andrew Kerr at the meeting.
Cllr Pollard said: "Despite being one of the poorest regions of the UK — and one of the few that qualifies for EU structural funding — Cornwall is still being unfairly treated by the Government.
"In the autumn statement last month, the Chancellor recognised that there are additional costs associated with the rural nature of councils such as Cornwall.
"Our aim today is to persuade the minister to back that understanding up with the money we need."
