those fortunate enough to have visited The Castle's Willoughby gallery in Bude recently will have been taken aback with the pictures displayed — then left speechless when they found out the pictures were all taken through the lens of the late Rob Walters' Iphone.
The 'Studio 1709 — Through His Eyes' exhibition, which runs until today (Thursday), has been put together by his wife Sue Walters who wanted to share her late husband's talent for capturing a moment in time.
She said: "Rob had a wonderful passion for life and was immensely proud to be Cornish — through his eyes I will show you what inspired him.
"Growing up in Bude he had a happy childhood and through meeting my lovely husband I fell in love with Bude too.
"We celebrated our love for each other here in The Castle, in this very same room, on 17th September 2010 — a wonderful day with so many beautiful memories, hence the name Studio 1709."
Rob was born and bred in Bude and as the sea and wind shaped Cornwall's most northern coastline it also shaped his early years, putting him in good stead for adult life.
After leaving school Rob joined The Parachute Regiment, serving in 1 Para, 3 Para and Pathfinder Platoon, travelling to many places in the world.
