THE finishing touches to the pavilion being built in Stanhope Park, Holsworthy, can now be made thanks to extra grant funding.
The pavilion project has been a joint venture between the town council and Holsworthy Area Sports Pavilion (HASP) and has received £10,000 through the Devon Community Foundation, which will be put towards the finishing touches needed to the building.
Members from the Thorne Farm Wind Turbine Grant and HASP committees met at the pavilion in Stanhope Park to celebrate the successful grant application.
A spokesperson for HASP said: “As you can imagine, a project of this size has taken a lot of funding through various sources. The £10,000 received will go toward the build’s finishing touches, enabling the community to be able to start to use this amazing facility,”
The HASP committee extended its thanks to the Thorne Farm Wind Turbine Committee and the Devon Community Foundation.
Mayor of Holsworthy, Jon Hutchings, said he was pleased to hear of HASP’s successful grant from the Thorne Farm Wind Turbine Committee. He said: “The pavilion project has been a partnership project between the town council and HASP and this funding will allow HASP to contribute towards the building costs of the stunning new pavilion.”
The Devon Community Foundation would like to invite voluntary groups from the parishes of Holsworthy Hamlets, Pyworthy and Pancrasweek to apply for funding. For more information visit the website www.devoncf.com
