PA23/00137: A rear extension and internal alterations at 25 Westground Way, Bossiney, Tintagel have been approved by Cornwall Council.
The application, which was made by Mr Richard Wiles, received comments from neighbours including objections.
Mr Neil Stansbie said: “Having looked at the proposed plans my wife and I feel this extension is too large resulting in our own rear garden to be completely overlooked and judging on its size would cut light from the rear of our own property quite significantly.
“This area is very quiet and we have concerns of noise issues the house is a small bungalow which now looks like a large family home.”
Mr Jake Webber said: “Having reviewed the proposed plans I have no objection to the principle of the extension but have discussed with the applicant some alterations that would improve the character and reduce the visual impact of the proposal.
“1. The extension roof line does show a step down which is desirable, but the gable form would be better suited to a hipped roof, reducing the scale and mass of the proposal. This would also reduce shading within the garden areas of the property and neighboring properties.
“2. The ground level does fall away to the North West, a step in the floor level of the extension could be achieved further reducing its appeared scale and reducing the number of steps down to the garden from the proposed bi-fold doors.”
Mrs Irene Hyett wrote to Cornwall Council in support of the application and it was approved by Cornwall Council.
