OVER the early May bank holiday weekend, on May 5, 6 and 7, Saint Swithin’s Church, Launcells, held its second art exhibition and sale — not to be confused with the art and craft fayre in September.

There were exhibitors from all over the area showing their talents with paint, and those who are talented in the field of craft.

The entrance was free, but many visitors made donations.

Tea/coffee/biscuits were served in the morning, and then light lunches of soup, sandwiches, salads. In the afternoon cream teas were served.

One of the organisers said: “It was such a pleasure to welcome newcomers to St Swithin’s and our local parishioners.”

The money raised was £840, which will help with fundraising this year.

Thanks were expressed to the stall holders, who are all local and so talented, to those who manned the kitchen, and Dee Wynne-Morter and her team who supplied lovely meals.

Those involved were Jan Hunt, Rose Harwood, Clare Monro, Maggie Cooper, Ann Farbrother, Meghan Dalgleish, Mary MacBrinn.
