LAUNCELLS History Group held a 'splendidly successful' exhibition of wartime memorabilia in the parish hall on Sunday to commemorate the centenary of the first world war. One of the organisers, Peter Harwood, said the hall was 'packed' with various memorabilia, mostly photographs and documents, which related to both the first and second world wars. Mr Harwood said he was pleased with the number of people who visited the exhibition and said some had travelled quite a distance to be there. There were free cream teas on offer for visitors, with donations to the history group welcome. The history group is expanding its collection of items. To find out more about the group, contact the main archivist, Freda Hockin, on 01288 381622 or secretary Dee Wynne-Morter on 01288 381887.
