Boscastle Playschool has spent the half term settling into its exciting new venue with its open plan purpose designed building, looking out right across the valley. The covered play area with its built in log cabin has proved very popular with the children.
The garden that the Eden Project helped to design is starting to take shape, with its variety of fruit trees and bushes now planted. The spring cabbages are growing but the leeks are still waiting to be popped into their fenced homes.
The guinea-pigs are settling in and the birds are visiting the bird station.
As the school is closed for training, playschool have invited the school children to join them in making bird boxes and hedgehog homes for the valley garden, a wild wooded area with its babbling brook.
Eventually a web cam will be put into a bird box and hedgehog home so that the children can watch the creatures inside. Once the website is up and running you will be able to link in and have a look.
Also on the agenda recently was exploring the valley garden — deciding on where might be a good place for the duck and chicken homes, and to make a start building a camp.
Boscastle Playschool is now open 8am to 3pm week days in term time, with breakfast club, morning session, lunch club and afternoon sessions. For more information, please phone 01840 250673 or 01840 250760.
