ONCE again, this year Shebbear College has welcomed a number of students from all over Europe.

The students have joined the school for the second half of this term, both to improve their English and to experience the culture of a different country.

In recent weeks students visited Morwellham Quay and were joined by two young cricketers from Barbados and South Africa.

The cricketers were also staying at the college on an exchange programme.

The diverse group of students came from Italy, France, Spain, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Barbados and South Africa and they enjoyed their day.

They experienced various aspects of life in Victorian England. They learned about child labour, rope making and life at a Victorian school, as well as travelling down the old copper mine, and taking on the opportunity to try on some Victorian clothes.
