STUDENTS from Sir James Smith's School, Camelford, have been planting for the future in their school grounds during The Tree Council's National Tree Week.

With the help of a grant from The Tree Council, the leading UK tree campaigning partnership, they have planted a number of different varieties of Cornish apple trees within the school garden area.

Pauline Buchanan-Black, Director-General of the Tree Council, said: "We are able to make this grant thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters and we are delighted that Sir James Smith's will be helping to celebrate National Tree Week by showing how much trees matter to them. We are aiming to mark this 37th National Tree Week by reminding everyone that each and every tree, no matter how large or small, can make a difference to the environment."
