MORE than £380 was raised for St Breward Church funds at the church’s annual hot chocolate-themed morning at the weekend.
This figure has since been rounded up by a further kind donation to £400 — an excellent result and a just reward for the effort put in by so many people.
This time, in addition to the usual stalls, there was a card stall, guess the name of the gorilla, which gave much amusement, and a pre-loved clothing stall.
The bric-a-brac table was stacked with interesting and useful items and did brisk trade, and the raffle was groaning with excellent prizes — lots of chocolates, of course!
The kitchen/café, with hot chocolate as a special, was buzzing with happy chatter and the cake stall sold out, chocolate cake being available at both.
The tombola and nearly new stall was bigger than normal and had some fun children’s toys.
Caroline Hooper, St Breward Church events co-ordinator and parochial church council treasurer, said: “A big thank you to all the helpers, donors and of course those who attended.”
