THE Bank Holiday sunshine brought out many visitors to the annual art exhibition, if only to escape the heat into the cool interior of Lifton Church Hall.
Lifton Art Group members welcomed visitors with the offer of refreshments and cake and were rewarded with positive praise and comments. ‘Even better than last year,’ was often heard.
For the first time the group held a raffle of an original watercolour by one of the members, John Shipston, of the very popular Copse viewed from the A30 and featured on the BBC Website ‘Landmarks that mean you’re nearly home’.
This year there was a collection for the Bloodwise Charity, which helps not only with research but also provides information and support for those diagnosed with blood cancer.
Linda Newman of Lifton Art Group said: “A hectic two days which once again has inspired us and resulted in enquiries from potential new members. A big thank you to everyone that has helped with the event, we couldn’t have done it without you!”
