LEZANT Horticultural Society Annual Show recently took place on a beautiful sunny day. The marquee was, as usual, packed with wonderful fruit and vegetables, handicraft, mouth-watering cookery items, beautiful art work and photography, superb wines, exquisite floral art displays and excellent exhibits by the local children in handicraft, cookery, story writing and handwriting.

The show was opened by Mr Ken Willcock, who owns the lovely Kencaro garden near Liskeard, and his speech about local shows being the backbone of the English countryside was well received.

The chairman, Mrs Mary Crew, was delighted with the amount of entries in all sections, especially in the vegetables and flowers, despite the unseasonal weather we have suffered!
