DESPITE the torrential rain on Saturday, September 22, approximately 30 people turned out to remember local man and wildlife expert, Andy Bond.

Andy was well known in Camelford for walking daily around Enfield Park, and informing people of what he had seen that day.

His daily updates have been missed since his passing.

The Bond family felt it fitting to organise a memorial walk, and son Stephen very much followed in his father’s footsteps and informed the walkers of what they might see.

Andy’s son, Stephen said: “We would just like to thank everyone for coming and remembering dad in such awful weather. It has shown us as a family how loved he was within the town, and hopefully his memory will live on for years to follow.”

Mayor Cllr Kirsty Ferguson thanked the Bond family for organising the walk in Andy’s memory, and suggested that there should be another when the hide is built by the pond in the months following.

The bird hide is also set to be dedicated by the town council to Andy.
