A CAMELFORD lady has been given 'new life' since taking part in the Campaign to End Loneliness running in Cornwall.

The campaign asked people aged 50 and over in Cornwall to respond to a survey seeking their views on loneliness, the services available in their area to tackle it and to establish the extent of the issue in the county.

There is clear evidence that loneliness and isolation in older age presents a significant public health risk; research has demonstrated it has a similar impact on early mortality as smoking 15 cigarettes a day and is worse for us than obesity.
