With a regular membership of around 40, the Bude Music Society has yet again come to the end of a very successful concert season.

The society offered six concerts ranging from a piano trio, an organ and trumpet recital in St James Church, Kilkhampton, a double bass recital, a

concert including a French horn, a wind trio, and ending with a piano recital on the society's own Steinway Grand Piano, now fully restored.

Despite financial concerns, a full programme of further varied concerts is planned for the next season, starting in October, and this was discussed at the Annual General Meeting which took place on Friday at St Martins Church in Killerton Road, when there was a further delight — a musical entertainment arranged by John and Margaret Hobbs, both very well known for their musical expertise; John of course being a leading light in the Duchy Opera for many years, the Director of the Bude Choral Society, as well as the North Devon and South Devon Choirs.

The Music Society tries to put on concerts that appeal to all music lovers within the area, and thus needs to hear from as many people as possible to enable them to achieve this aim.
