SATURDAY, May 22 saw the end of season presentation evening for North Petherwin AFC at the Countryman Inn.
Guests enjoyed a carvery dinner before club chairman Nigel Cowling talked of the club's progress before handing out the awards as follows:
The top scorer trophy was this year shared between Jo Reeve, who has again been classy every game, also picking up young player of the year, and the reliable boot of Dan Warring both with 16 goals, Dan was also thanked for his efforts this year aiding secretary Andi Sleeman in the club affairs.
Most improved player was Barry Rutherford who was steady and assured and with a good engine and probably the most dedicated in training too.
Players player was received by a very deserving Jim Werran who has quality in both feet but most importantly the best attitude, determination and literally never knowing when we he is beaten.
Thanks went to the hard work put in by player-manager Chris Riorden and he awarded the manager's trophy to returning striker Adey Heal, partially because he can laugh and sing off any adversity.
The clubman this year was stalwart Roy Barriball who has kept a beautiful pitch again this season despite the atrocious weather at times.
Thanks also went to The White Horse Inn, The Countryman Inn, the tea ladies, the lads who helped train the Petherwin local kids, Raz and Dan for a great dream team league which was won by Laurence Wright and the work of treasurer Julie Cowling.
The club invite any new interest in the club be it for players (possibly a reserve team subject to Kingsley League acceptance) or new committee members, A Sleeman, NPAFC Sec.
