NATIONAL DIVISION TWO
End of promotion dream?
CORNISH ALL Blacks coaches Chris Brown and Jon Hill were reported as thinking the dream of promotion is over and Polson will see National Division Two rugby next season and with it a cut in funding from the Rugby Football Union from £67,500 per club to £46,750. This will decrease further the following season to £28,375. The £20,750 'loss' next season (£39,125 the following season) could influence the decisions which have to be made at Polson. Jon Hill said 'Looking at the way in which the game is going, the RFU are pushing for the levels below the Premiership and Championship to become semi-amateur rather than semi-professional.' So was this season the last chance for the Cornish All Blacks to join the 'elite'?
