IT RAINED, it poured, but the miserable conditions failed to deter the positivity from the entrants and the few that made their way into Camelford, for the annual carnival last Saturday.

Dazzling in their white outfits from their floral-laden float, this year's carnival royalty brightened the streets as they followed the lead of Jordon Pooley, who was on horseback.

Tunes from the town band overcome the lashes of rain and howling wind, playing to residents and visitors along the streets.

Marney Baker, carnival secretary, was pleased with the turnout and the number of children who took part, saying it was "very encouraging for the future".
