EMERGENCY services are currently at the scene of two collisions that have taken place on the A30.
Police were informed at around 10:50am today (March 22) that a collision had taken place which was affecting both the east and westbound sides of the carriageway, plus damage to the central barrier.
There are currently no reports of anyone seriously injured, but believed to be a number walking wounded.
Early reports signal at least six vehicles were involved in the collision.
A number of these vehicles will need to be recovered, and it is expected that the road closures and subsequent disruption in the area will be for quite some time.
The second incident has taken place near Launceston towards Okehampton at around 11:15am where a car is believed to have aquaplaned and collided with the central barrier. There are no reported injuries and police and highways are also at the scene here to aid with clean up and recovery.
Road users are asked to avoid the area, and to be patient as emergency services attend. Police are also asking drivers to be aware of the tricky driving conditions in the area and to reduce their speed, and to drive with caution.
